Booths is set to open its Artisan restaurant in Kendal in the evenings for the first time.

Opening later on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays will allow the restaurant to serve dinner. News of the extended hours follows a revamp of the restaurant, which is sited beneath Booths' flagship store in Kendal and opened in 2005. As part of the revamp, the restaurant has a new menu and operations manager.

"The revamped Artisan has a fresh look and will offer diners the choice of a lunchtime menu plus a new children's and evening menu," said operations manager Joel Kirkpatrick.

"The food served in the evenings will be a little more sophisticated, while still being true to the ethos of Artisan, which is about serving excellent quality food with a strong use of local produce and flavours," Kirkpatrick added. "It promises to be a delicious treat for diners."

Evening main courses on the A La Carte menu include National Trust beef and Lancaster Bomber ale pie served with house chips and market vegetables. Also featured is a 'from the region' lamb neck hotpot with sweet braised red cabbage and brown lentils.
