Norman Soutar has taken over as chief executive at Baxters Food Group, replacing Audrey Baxter, who has dropped the role of chief executive while remaining executive chairman.
As group MD, Soutar has taken charge of the company’s UK and European operations, with direct responsibility for its corporate strategy.
Baxters said the changes, which had broadened its management structure, had been under review by the holding company board since last year. It said they were made to help achieve ambitious growth plans following 17.5% sales growth and the acquisition of condiments and pickles maker CCL Foods last year.
Speaking about his vision for the company, Soutar said: “We are aiming for £300m of turnover in the next 15 years.”
Soutar has been promoted from director of corporate strategy.
