Pernod Ricard UK has made Jean-Manuel Spriet chief executive, following Paul Duffy’s departure to become chief executive of Irish Distillers, one of Pernod Ricard’s brand-owning companies.
Spriet will be leading the company’s 200 employees and will be responsible for growing market share in the UK wine and spirits market, which is one of the group’s largest national sales and marketing companies.
He has held senior positions with Pernod Ricard since 1990 and has been chief executive of Jan Bacher, a leading spirits importer in the Czech Republic, for the past three years.
He started out at the company as finance and administration director of Orangina, the company’s former soft drinks business based in France. He then moved to Australia in 1993 to become deputy finance administration director of Orlando Wyndham, Pernod Ricard’s wine business, which includes Jacob’s Creek and Wyndham Estate wines.
He then returned to France to Pernod Ricard Holding Group in Paris in 1998 as deputy finance director.
