SSL International, which makes Durex condoms and the Dr Scholl range of footcare products, said that its chief executive Brian Buchan is to step down on April 1.

He will be replaced by Garry Watts, the finance director of the group.

SSL chairman, Ian Martin said Buchan would leave the company “in a far better position than when he joined it”.
