SSL International's pre-tax profit for the six months to 30 September rose 9.2% to £18.9m on sales up 6.8% at £236.3m.

Sales of Durex condoms rose 17.8% to £90.6m, while sales of Scholl footcare were up 8.5% at £58.6m.

“Durex and Scholl did well and both are growing rapidly. We're well on track to achieve our double digit operating profit growth target in the current year,” said Garry Watts, chief executive of SSL International.
