Business students were given a taste of the world of food retail in a simulation exercise this week. MBA students at Southampton University played the roles of top managers of four supermarkets and four manufacturers. A computer simulation developed for the university by software expert Stainton Associates gave the two-day project a realistic edge. Each group developed its own strategy and objectives, and competed against fellow students. The program then took each team's decisions and simulated consumer reactions to the outcomes. {{NEWS }}
