Too many independent retailers fail to invest in drinks chillers and lose out on sales, according to the Federation of Wholesale Distributors.

The FWD is emphasising the importance of chilled displays in its new Take Home Blueprint.

Chairman of Blueprint activities, Alan Toft, said the FWD was reorganising the initiative with new ideas. "There are still too many wholesaler customers who are not investing in chilled and the Blueprint team is in the vanguard in the field."

The Blueprint team will be visiting wholesalers nationwide to promote the scheme and to take nominations for retailers who could receive free in-store makeovers.
