Barton was given this position to reward his work as national sales manager for the business, which acts as the buying arm for 20 member companies.
Over four years, he expanded national accounts sales from £400,000 to £15m, selling brands such as Wall’s, Nestlé, Treats, Mars, Cadbury’s, Häagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry’s. In the past year, he helped win £2m worth of new contracts.
He has 38 years experience in the ice cream business and has held a number of senior sales, franchise and events management posts,
Barton spent 15 years at Birds Eye Wall’s prior to joining Ice Cream World. He became managing director of Midlands Ice Cream Supplies, the Wall’s franchise, where he grew sales from £1.1m to nearly £5m and boosted customer outlets from 1,100 to 3,000.
