Massages, Pilates and blood-pressure checks - just a few of the benefits leading manufacturers are offering staff to help them stay in tip-top condition.
Details of the perks are published in a new FDF booklet that highlights what members are doing to keep their staff healthy.
Staff at Danone are offered free water, yoghurt and fruit, and stress-busting training and massages.
Heinz UK and Kellogg's are providing blood-pressure, cholesterol and stamina checks. At Kraft UK, there are staff facilities for Pilates, yoga and circuit-training, as well as bike racks, lockers and showers.
In a foreword to the booklet, Salman Amin, president of PepsiCo UK and chair of the FDF's health and wellbeing steering group, said: "When you consider the scale of our industry - the largest manufacturing sector, employing 500,000 people - you can understand how our pledge has the potential to make a huge impact on the nation's health."
The FDF said other companies planning on introducing similar schemes needed to ensure they were available to all workers, from the head office down to distribution centres. In particular, they should be tailored to benefit "harder-to-reach" employees, such as night-shift staff.
