Awareness of food safety issues is at a low among UK consumers according to new research from food hygiene body Foodlink. Some 41% of 1,000 people surveyed said they did not always keep their food properly wrapped or covered in the fridge and 28% said they did not always ensure their food was cooked so it was piping hot throughout Eight per cent admitted to eating food past its use-by date and 32% said they didn't always look at use-by dates on labels when shopping. Foodlink, led by the Food and Drink Federation, will be tackling food safety issues in National Food Safety Week, which starts on Monday (June 10). {{NEWS }}
