T&S will begin an aggressive refurb of its One Stop estate after moderate' investment to revamp a handful of stores generated strong sales increases. Speaking at the company's agm, chairman Kevin Threlfall said a cluster of revamped trial stores given a vastly enhanced chilled and fresh offer had exceeded expectations  with a surprisingly small investment: "We believe that many of our stores can be refitted more quickly and, encouragingly, at a lower capital cost than originally anticipated. While continuing to test the formats, we expect to begin our full refurb programme in the coming weeks." First quarter like-for-like sales at One Stop were 5%, up from 2% for the same period last year. {{NEWS }}
