United Biscuits has appointed Benoît Testard managing director of the UK business, succeeding Will Carter who has left the company.
Testard has been managing director of United Biscuits northern European region since 2001 and before that he was managing director of UB France for two years.
He has more than 25 years experience in fmcg companies, having started his career at Reckitt and Colman, now Reckitt Benckiser. Before joining United Biscuits, Testard spent 13 years with Fromageries BEL, working on leading cheese brands, including Mini Babybel and Port Salut.
A spokesperson for UB said: “Over the past three years, Benoît has had a significant impact on UB’s northern European business.
“A proven track record and knowledge of the business made him the ideal candidate to lead the UK businesses.”
Carter had worked at United Biscuits for more than 20 years, holding a variety of roles in both KP and McVitie’s.
The company said that despite structural reorganisation last year, UBUK had not delivered against its business plans and that a new approach was needed to help UBUK grow and integrate the Jacob’s business.
