Sir; It is only now becoming clear, after the huge amount of activity which was generated, that a lot of people got involved in helping to mark National Independents’ Day on June 1.
This is a note of thanks to suppliers, wholesalers, independent retailers, our PR consultants Nexus, the Federation of Wholesale Distributors PR Action Group and the trade press, who all contributed to making NID ’05 such a success. FWD now has a very hot property in the My Shop Is Your Shop campaign. It will need more support to maintain momentum.
The PR activity generated extensive media exposure supporting the independent retailer and the community to a total equivalent advertising value of more than £1m. Fantastic!
