August 5, 1950. Even in these days of full employment something like alarm is expressed about the increasing number of elderly people. By 1980 one person in five will be eligible for a pension while at the same time the raising of the school leaving age to 16 will change a number of wage earners into wage consumers. The time will come when a diminishing number of workers will be unable to support the increasing burden. If means can been found of employing the elderly it will be of great assistance to the country. It has been proved that the elderly can adapt to new occupations, for no age seems too great to learn a new craft. {{COUNTERPOINT }}
