Energizer is plugging in a new £1.6m advertising campaign in December in a bid to electrify sales of its Ultimate sub-brand over the key Christmas period.
The new TV campaign, which hits TV screens on Wednesday (December 1), has been planned to coincide with the ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’ reality TV series, with a new ad featuring the animated battery character Mr Energizer.
The ad features a guide leading a group of tourists through the Australian outback. He spots a crocodile and shines a torch on the reptile to stop an attack, until the batteries die. Mr Energizer saves the day by swinging through the trees and speedily inserting Energizer Ultimate batteries into the torch. It ends with the strapline ‘Extra energy when you need it most’.
Sarah Rogers, marketing manager for Energizer Ultimate, said: “Christmas remains a key time and with the increasing trend for high-tech gifts, the Ultimate battery meets consumer needs.
“The new ad guarantees maximum exposure.”
