How schools could play a part The Royal Society of Arts Focus on Food campaign is urging more support for food teaching in schools. This week it encouraged schools to put their pupils' baking skills to the test in the Let's Bake It! tastebud challenge. The Waitrose-sponsored initiative aims to encourage children to develop a lifelong appreciation of food and its preparation. As part of the programme, the Waitrose Cooking Bus visits schools and Waitrose stores around the country, giving lessons to children and teachers. Focus on Food director Anita Cormac said: "The future health of the nation is dependent on good practical food education in schools. Children need the chance to take an active part in the preparation of food and parents need to support our call for a curriculum change." {{FEAT. COVER }}
