To go  the distance Heat & Eat is the new banner under which Tivall Foods is planning to capitalise on the booming food to go market. Next year it will be launching a range of frozen microwaveable snacks called Pitta Snax which will be targeted at meat reducers. Individually wrapped single 200g portions of soft pittas containing a choice of three fillings  doner kebab with a spicy sauce, hot dog with a mustard sauce and a burger  will be on offer at an rsp of £1.50. UK managing director Maria Dooley (pictured) says: "There is a trend towards frozen snacking products, particularly snack to go in independents, and it is young consumers, particularly women, who are the drivers." Two thirds of Tivall's business is own label. It supplies Tesco, Sainsbury and Safeway and, more recently, Morrisons. Although this product will initially be branded, the company sees a spin off into own label. {{FOCUS SPECIALS }}
