Thresher Group has appointed Trevor Moore as its new managing director for The Local, its food and drink convenience retailing arm with 130 stores.
Moore will take over from the interim managing director David Kassler, who is returning to Terra Firma, the private equity backer of the Thresher Group portfolio.
Moore has joined Thresher Group from Phones4u, part of Caudwell Group, where he was customer excellence director responsible for operations, customer relations and new store openings. Prior to that he worked at Coffee Republic, Whitbread and HSBC.
In his new role, Moore will be
responsible for the further roll out of The Local nationwide.
The 130 shops in the north west and West Midlands, which were refurbished last September, as well as the four pilot stores in Glasgow, are achieving double-digit sales growth.
This month, Moore will be overseeing the conversion of a further 120 stores, including 15 more in Scotland under the Haddows Local fascia.
Moore said that he would enjoy contributing to the further success of the convenience format and expects to have at least 500 shops trading under the brand by the end of the year.
He added: “I am looking forward to taking on the challenges of a new role in a company that is going through an exciting time of transformation and growth.”
