Green Isle Foods is backing new 9" versions of Pizza Pie with a £7m marketing spend, as it aims for a bigger slice of the growing thin and crispy pizza sector. Support for the five flavours includes a £3.5m TV campaign and instore tasting. A generic ad for Pizza Pie and a 10 second ad for the new size kick off on June 5 with the strapline Tasting is believing'. Green Isle launched the 12" Pizza Pie ­ which has a lip edged crust, making it bowl shaped ­ last May. A spokesman said the company was creating a pizza pie subsector within thin and crispy.
