A third case of bluetongue has been confirmed by Defra.

The case was confirmed in one animal at a site near Lowestoft, Suffolk, 40 miles from the first two cases at a farm in Baylham, Suffolk.

There was insufficient evidence to confirm an active outbreak of Bluetongue by the internationally-recognised definition, Defra said. Movement restrictions have been put in place across much of the south and east of England, stretching from Nottinghamshire to the south coast.
