Exporting could become simpler thanks to a government-backed initiative launched this week.

The Farming, Food and Drink Exports Action Plan aims to remove trade barriers, encourage more companies to export and champion British food abroad. If it succeeds it will boost an already thriving sector, with exports expected to hit £12bn this year, up from £10.8bn in 2010.

“This plan has many commonsense actions,” said FDF director general Melanie Leech.
