WH Smith has reported a “good performance” from its travel retail division.
In a trading update released this morning, the retailer said the division was “making further progress in winning new business in the international channel”.
Its high street retail business was also continuing to focus on “gross margin gains and tight cost control”.
Meanwhile, WH Smith also said Simon Marinker, managing director of the travel retail business, is to retire in December following 34 years with the group. He will retain a role with the business as a consultant.
Chief operating officer of travel retail Simon Smith will assume responsibility for that division.
