The National Trust will launch a quality food label at the end of July at the first in a series of farm shops attached to its properties around the country. The farm shop at the Wallington estate in Northumberland will open for business on July 26 stocking a selection of National Trust branded fresh produce and meat from tenant farmers on the 13,000-acre estate, plus a selection of other products from local producers such as cheeses, jams, eggs and pickles. National Trust assistant marketing and communications manager Lisa Hadwin said the scheme was the first step in a national programme to help farmers sell and market produce locally, backed by a well-known brand name. {{NEWS }}
