Ferrero has promoted UK & Ireland marketing director Dave Tucker to the role of regional commercial director at its headquarters in Luxembourg.

Tucker will take responsibility for Ferrero's boxed chocolate brands in the US, South America, Canada and Australia, as well as the UK.

Since joining the business five years ago, he has played a pivotal role in doubling the company's confectionery market share in the UK to 4%.

He has also been credited with positioning Ferrero's pralines offer as the number-one boxed chocolate range, achieving its highest-ever market share last Christmas.

Tucker, who was formerly a brand director at Coca-Cola, also worked on the launch of sub-brands Ferrero Collection, Rondnoir and Rafaello by Ferrero, as well as the relaunch of Nutella in 2007.

Mauro De Felip has been appointed to take over as marketing director for the UK & Ireland, with responsibility for brands including Tic Tac, Nutella, Ferrero, Kinder Bueno and Kinder Kids.

He joins from Ferrero Italy, where he held various marketing and sales positions and will report directly into UK managing director Christian Walter.
