FareShare, the national food distribution charity that works with communities to relieve food poverty, is looking for your support to achieve its goal of ensuring 20,000 homeless and vulnerable people have at least one hot meal over the festive period this year.
Its Christmas Meal Appeal was launched last year with a smaller scale pilot and this year it wants to get more companies involved. Between 11 and 23 December FareShare's seven depots will deliver the ingredients for a Christmas dinner to soup kitchens and drop-in centres.
"The donation of Christmas food from FareShare in December helped ensure all our clients had a cooked meal over the festive period," says Audrey Walker from the Dundee Fairbridge charity for personal and social development for young people.
If you are interested in getting behind this industry-wide appeal, through helping to source the Christmas food FareShare requires, or making a donation towards its funding target of £200,000, please contact FareShare on 020 7394 2469 or email jonathan.
