Union Market, the supermarket-cum-farmer's market set to open in London next month, is claiming two world firsts.

It will have a school lunch counter in the store, serving products ideal for children's packed lunches. The retailer will also be selling Rothschild wines and will feature the first wine under £5 from the fine wine supplier.

The store plans to stock 2,500 "affordable" products that are benchmarked in terms of price against supermarkets.

"We want this to be a store for everyone," said founder Tony Bromovsky.
