Home secretary David Blunkett will address Usdaw’s annual delegate meeting in Blackpool where issues such as retail crime, rights at work, transport and education will be discussed.
More than 1,300 members and officials of the shopworkers union will meet in the Winter Gardens for the four-day conference, which runs from Sunday April 25 until Wednesday April 28, to agree on policies and priorities for the 331,000-strong union.
The union will also launch new initiatives for its Freedom From Fear campaign.
Blunkett is expected to speak on the Tuesday morning.
