Video Box Office (VBO), the UK supplier of video and DVD rental and retail products to the convenience sector, has unveiled a competition to find the best video rental operator.

The competition starts on October 1, and will include operators in each of the seven symbol groups and one independent store.

After stores have been screen by VBO business development advisors, a total of 45 stores will be chosen. Winners will include two from Spar, two from Costcutter and one each from Booker, Londis, P&H, Nisa plus an independent.

VBO operations director Richard Whalley commented: “We have launched these awards to encourage best practice and to demonstrate that video rental is just like any other key product in the convenience sector in that best practice and god management controls can make a significant impact on overall sales and profits.”
