The National Federation of Retail Newsagents has claimed a victory in its campaign to extend the time for retailers to claim costs for returning unsold magazines to 17 days.
Previously, some publishers gave retailers only four days to return magazines. Many could not do so in time and so could not recoup the cash they had to pay for those titles.
The cross-industry decision was ratified on this week at a board meeting of joint industry group JIG. “This is a big win for retailers,” said NFRN president Peter Wagg.
