It took just 12 weeks – and £1.4m – to turn a wheat field into a state of the art BP forecourt.

The new James Graven & Sons store in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, is the setting for this video store tour with Jonathan Rons, client director at retail consultancy Him!.

Measures to make the Spar store the greenest of its kind included £30,000 of local planting onsite and a carwash supplied with captured rainwater.

High-tech features that put the outlet “five years ahead of its time” include fuel pumps that can display media video, custom lighting and cutting-edge CCTV.

Rons also highlights the strong ‘local’ message that is key to the store’s fresh and food-to-go offerings.
