Waitrose has responded to calls from the Government and produced a sensible drinking guide for consumers in conjunction with campaign group Alcohol in Moderation.
Waitrose said its eight-page ‘Alcohol and You’ guide was created in response to the Cabinet Office’s Alcohol Reduction Strategy, which said that retailers of alcohol have done little to inform consumers about units, sensible drinking guidelines or the law.
Alcohol and You, which is available free from the retailer’s alcohol aisles, also answers frequently asked questions about alcohol that were derived from a five-year survey of consumer queries on a dedicated web site, www.drinkingandyou.com.
