In fact, 'welly wanging' was just one of several sports at Innocent's Village Fete in Regent's Park, London last month. It was all for a good cause though. Innocent raised £150,000 for its charity partners Friends of the Earth, Well Child and the Samaritans.
With the 2012 Olympics five years off, perhaps the organisers should think about including it. It's got to be a damn sight more entertaining than synchronised swimming, anyway.
