Trade marketing director John Bunting said WH Smith News had been able to provide publishers with efficient distribution and merchandising services through new technology. As a result, suppliers outside publishing had asked the company to provide them with the same support. Bunting cited one example: "We're working with a bottled water company to provide full marketing solutions. The non-news market will become much more of a focus over the next year." He said the company wanted to offer "fully integrated, field-based solutions". This would include managing PoS, presentation, promotions, unit design and sales tracking. Bunting revealed WH Smith News was trialling these services for books, confectionery, and videos. {{NEWS }}
