Sir; In response to Alexander Waugh's letter on wheat prices, since he wrote the letter, the price of wheat in Liverpool is now 3% lower, with many mills using ample supplies of cheaper grades ('Millers' flour costs will go up, The Grocer, 3 February, p30).

The market in the UK is still in surplus of milling wheat, and prices look set to fall further as there is no export interest.

I must remain anonymous - I do not wish to be blacklisted by the UK flour mills that my company supplies.
