FWD members have ensured that they are fully stocked with products to support the NID’s first national generic promotion for independents.
As part of the promotion, money-off coupons for brands such as Coca-Cola, Heinz, Uncle Ben’s and Doritos were printed in the May 27 editions of the Daily Mirror and the Daily Record.
Cash and carries have displayed giant posters announcing the promotion and have been playing a special NID jingle CD to alert customers to the day.
Approximately 10 million coupons, which can be redeemed at independent stores on June 1, will be in circulation.
Meanwhile, stocks of NID materials have been snapped up by independents.
More than 2,500 independents called the NID helpline to request NID t-shirts, caps and balloons. However, by May 22, all 25,000 items had been cleared.
