William Reed Publishing, the publisher of The Grocer and Convenience Store magazines, has been voted 93 in The Sunday Times list of the 100 Best Small Firms to Work for in the UK.

Of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in the UK, the survey puts drinks manufacturer Bacardi-Martini at number 9, down from position 5 last year, and baker and tea supplier, Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate, at number 43. While the latter is praised for giving something back to its staff, the former is recognised by the survey as providing good leadership, wellbeing and a sense of belonging.

Majestic Wine Warehouses, the wine retailer, is listed at number 93 and is also praised by staff surveyed for providing them with a sense of belonging.

Of the 100 Best Small Firms, fresh produce supplier Hart Worldwide ranked number 2 with strengths in all categories, while beer group, Cobra Beer, was listed at number 29 for the second year running.

Wine importer Bibendum Wine ranked number 42, and food wholesale and distribution company, Eightacre, was at 56. Food manufacturer, Danone UK, ranked 88 with particular strength noted in its leadership skills.
