Leading leverage trading and corporate barter company MRI International (Europe) is sponsoring The Grocer's Gramia 2000 awards at the London Hilton on October 5. Simon Lee, MRI's European chief executive office, says the decision to sponsor the awards was a natural evolution for the company. "Many of our largest clients are major grocery names. They trade their excess inventory via us at up to full wholesale value and apply their trade credits across advertising campaigns and other procurement issues." MRI is a global operation, having launched in the US 20 years ago. Its UK office is expected to hit £100m turnover this year, with clients in wines, soft drinks, fresh fruit, dairy, cereals and shelf stable food products. MRI is planning to organise a series of leverage trading and barter seminars in the first half of next year directed at financial, marketing and sales professionals from the grocery industry. {{NEWS }}
