The Grocer’s owner Wm Reed Publishing has clinched a deal with the Federation of Wholesale Distributors to publish its magazine Pro Wholesaler under licence.
Pro Wholesaler was launched in 1989 as part of a strategy to give wholesaling a dedicated professionally produced campaigning publication, and is now the leading ABC-accredited title in its sector.
Pro Wholesaler will complement the stable of industry-leading titles William Reed publishes, which also includes Convenience Store and OLN.
William Reed group MD Charles Reed said: “Pro Wholesaler has played a vital role in supporting and informing wholesalers, and with the resources available to our group we believe we can build on its achievements.”
The new editor of Pro Wholesaler, with effect from the March issue, will be John Wood, currently news editor of The Grocer, and a former deputy editor of Convenience Store. He takes over from Alan Toft, launch publisher of Pro Wholesaler, who remains FWD director general and will continue to direct lobbying activities and industry PR.
Toft said: “Pro Wholesaler will be developed to new heights, supporting the industry with added professionalism while we can get on with fighting for commercial justice for wholesalers.”
