Three killed in stampede for oil

CHONGQING, CHINA: Three people died and 30 were injured during a stampede at a Carrefour supermarket in China as shoppers rushed to take advantage of a promotion on cooking oil. The supermarket in Chongqing, south west China, was offering 20% off rapeseed oil, which has soared in price over the past year. Crowds had been queuing outside the store for several hours.
