Training for Indian retail sector

MUMBAI: Britain's Skillsmart Retail is to set up a training programme in India in a three-year collaboration with conglomerate Tata Interactive Systems. The initiative will create a Retail Academy run by Tata, designed to provide training for workers in India's booming £171bn-a-year retail sector, which is forecast to double in size by 2015. "This is a fantastic opportunity to share our knowledge and experience at an international level in a country where retail is growing rapidly," said Anne Seaman, CEO of Skillsmart Retail, which is part-funded by the UK government.
