Bentonville, Arkansas: Wal-Mart has unveiled a new look Neighbourhood Market format at a store in Naples, Florida. The 51,000 sq ft store aims to create a more intimate environment to appeal to women shoppers, with an enhanced health and beauty area. "Consumers are looking for a shopping experience that can simplify their lives while meeting their personal needs," said store manager Kevin Stout. "Our store was designed to show shoppers we can do both." Wal-Mart operates 112 Neighbourhood Market stores in the US and plans to open a further 15-20 this year. Later this year, Tesco will launch a convenience format in the US on the west coast.
