Martin McColl has reported a 3.5% increase in like-for-like sales in the six weeks to 6 January.

Sales were boosted by “excellent” sales of Christmas ranges, especially confectionery and grocery, the c-store and CTN giant said.

“I am very pleased with our performance over the festive season,” said chairman and CEO James Lancaster.

“Our positive performance reflects Martin McColl’s strengthening position in the UK convenience sector and puts us in a good position as we look to further expand our retail footprint,” he added.
