Transformers merchandise is rolling out across grocery in the run-up to the fourth movie.
Transformers: Age of Extinction is released in cinemas on 5 July but has already made its presence felt in retailers including the big four with the launch last week of a 170-card collectable trading card game by Topps. The cards are available in starter packs (rsp: £4.99), packs of eight cards (rsp: £1) and mini tins (rsp: £5.99).
Activity to support the cards will include giveaways in Transformers Prime cartoon DVDs, and publications including the official Transformers magazine. Packs will also be given away when a replica of Optimus Prime visits festivals and shopping centres across the UK this summer.
Mondelez International has partnered with the movie to roll out multipacks (6 x 25g snack packs) of Transformers branded mini Oreo cookies from 1 July.
Bazooka Candy Brands is this month rebranding a host of its products - including Push Pop, Big Baby Pop, Ring Pop, Mega Mouth and Juicy Drop Pop - with limited-edition packaging featuring characters from the movie. Promotional packs of Juicy Drop Pop include one of seven free collectable charms, while Push Pop multipacks will include one of 10 collectable Tazos.
