Exclusive Mary Carmichael Heinz is set to launch a range of five inch frozen pizzas in October, which could lead to a head to head with McCain's Micro Pizzas. The pizzas are said to be aimed at young snackers and follow Heinz Frozen and Chilled's research with teenagers that highlighted convenience as a key factor. Convenience was the trigger behind the launch of McCain's Micro Pizzas last October. The snack size pizzas, which also target teenagers, are designed to be cooked in three minutes in the microwave. A Heinz spokesman confirmed launch plans but would not reveal if the product will be microwavable. Heinz is poised to lift the lid on plans for its frozen food division which it acquired from United Biscuits last year. The acquisition added McVitie's Go Ahead! pizzas to its portfolio, which includes the San Marco brand. Heinz already made Baked Beans Pizzas. {{P&P }}
