A new range of microwave pasta dishes that remain al dente when cooked is being launched this autumn.

The Microwave Magic range is being launched by a Norfolk chef who has invented a twin-pouch format that keeps the sauce separate from the pasta until it starts to cook. While being heated, the sauce automatically starts to mix with the pasta.

Chef Liz Johnson is launching the range through her company Segrapack and in conjunction with JM Packaging. Rice and noodle dishes are in the pipeline for the ambient range, while Johnson also has hopes to work with another manufacturer in order to develop a chilled range.
