Kleenex is to use Facebook and Twitter to give advice to hay fever sufferers.

Following research into how sufferers discuss hay fever online, the brand's Facebook page and Twitter account will offer daily support and advice from experts, as well as challenge myths about hay fever. People reporting symptoms on Twitter will be offered free 'rescue kits' containing items from a range of products such as Kleenex Balsam Fresh Pocket Packs, Kleenex Nose and Lip Balm, Twinings Packet Teas, Potter's Allerclear Eye Drops, handheld fans and eyemasks.

"Our aim is to become the best place for sufferers to come and get advice, share their experiences and meet like-minded people," said Kleenex brand manager Christina Lecky.

The campaign has been developed by social media agency We Are Social, which will be undertaking ongoing consultancy and research for the brand.
