Convenience food group Uniq has entered a four-year agreement to contract pack Cadbury chilled desserts for Müller, which has won the new licence from Cadbury.

Uniq said the move would reduce its annual sales value by £5m. But, chief executive Bill Ronald said he was delighted to have secured a “long-term solution for our excellent
desserts facility with a partner who is extremely well placed to further grow
this category”.

Uniq will continue to produce Cadbury desserts from its factory in Devon for Müller but marketing, sales and distribution of the products would pass to Müller. While Uniq's chilled distribution centre at Gloucester managed by Wincanton, will no longer handle Cadbury desserts.
