The battle to save the remnants of collapsed dairy operation United Milk continues after a consortium of farmer owned co-operatives managed to secure the continued supply of milk to UM’s threatened Westbury plant for a further week.
Talks are continuing between PricewaterhouseCoopers and the consortium, which is made up of the Dairy Farmers of Britain, Milk Link and First Milk, to secure the operation’s long term future
A spokesman for the co-ops said: “We are pleased we have been able to secure the factory for a further week while dialogue continues.
“We remain determined to secure a positive outcome.”
