The retailer is to give a range of foreign brews their own dedicated display to target the high number of Antipodeans and South Africans living in London. It is hoped that introducing beers from New Zealand, South Africa and Australia could also broaden British drinkers’ repertoires. The range will initially be available at 40 Tesco stores within the M25 belt.
Various branded suppliers are currently in talks with Tesco to agree prices and shipment dates, although it is understood that the collection of beers will be available in the early summer.
A spokeswoman said it was premature to give details.
