A scheme to assure the quality of Scottish wild venison has already approved more than 50 suppliers.

The Scottish Quality Wild Venison Assurance Scheme, launched at the Royal Highland Show, has now signed up 52 producers and one processor. A further five producers and two processors have also applied for approval.

Ian Forshaw, scheme chairman, said: “This is excellent news for consumers of wild Scottish venison. As more suppliers and processors receive approval, consumers will find it easier to find and buy venison products with the assurance that everything has been done to ensure the product’s quality.”
